How to measure for your dog’s collar
Dogs vary in size and physique and there is no set size for each breed. Use our explanation below to correctly measure and order the right collar (neck) size.
Neck measurements for a flat buckle collar, should be taken with a soft tape measure. At the middle of the neck place two fingers between the tape measure and the neck (not slack). With smaller dogs and a fine coat, one finger should be sufficient. Do not be tempted to add, as you can see in the picture the collar is not slack (image 1). This is the size to order, and this will be the middle hole on the collar. There will be holes on either side for adjustment (image 2). Be sure to mention if your dog is young and still growing and therefore, we will allow for growth.
If you have a collar that fits your dog well, you can use this as your size guide. Lay this out flat and measure from the roller of the buckle where the ‘prong or tongue’ sits (image 3) through to the hole you use on your dog (image 4).
